Continuing Anglican churches are groups of churches which follow the Anglican tradition, but are not in association with the Episcopal Church. The Continuing Anglican Movement began in 1977, when several thousand Anglican bishops, clergy, and laypeople met in St. Louis, MO in opposition to the Episcopal Church. Most Continuing Anglican churches are Anglo-Catholic.
